Credit & Debt Guides

The average American household is carrying thousands of dollars of credit card debt -- about $8,000. Such a burden can lead to emotional and marital problems, along with psychological and physical stress. Many people who owe large amounts of money feel lost, depressed, and can have their lives affected in many negative ways -- but paying off your credit card debt doesn't need to be a painful process. It should be liberating.

Everyday people finding themselves in debt situations can erase or greatly reduce their own debt by following a similar blueprint and some very basic steps.

The main key to freeing yourself from consumer debt and achieving "financial freedom" comes down to: responsibility. You need to take control of your finances, know where your money is going each month, save where possible, and apply all of your total savings to your debt.

If you determine you are in too much debt and need outside assistance, there are credit counselors and bankruptcy lawyers able to help you.
